To meet Apple’s ambitious target of 90 million iPhone 16 units, Foxconn has hired 50,000 new workers at its Zhengzhou factory in China. This significant hiring push comes as Apple prepares to unveil the iPhone 16 lineup in September. The iPhone production season, which typically runs from August to December, is now in full swing.
To attract new talent and ramp up production, Foxconn began offering an increased hourly wage of up to 25 Yuan in late July. Additionally, the Taiwanese manufacturer raised the hiring bonus from 6,000 Yuan to as much as 7,500 Yuan at its Zhengzhou facility, the world’s largest iPhone production base.
In addition to Foxconn’s efforts, Samsung and LG have also started mass-producing displays for the iPhone 16 lineup. Apple has reportedly ordered 80 million display panels from Samsung and 43 million from LG.
