Apple’s iPhone 16 series might ship without the highly anticipated Apple Intelligence feature, a cornerstone of iOS 18. Initially hinted for a summer beta release, Apple has postponed the rollout to October, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. This delay means that early iPhone 16 units will lack Apple Intelligence pre-installed, which will be available through software updates later in 2024 and early 2025.
Key sources reveal that Apple Intelligence will initially be accessible to developers with iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 Beta, rolling out features like custom Emoji creation by describing them in text. Only iPhone models with 8GB of RAM, including the iPhone 15 Pro series and the entire iPhone 16 lineup, will support this feature.

Despite these delays, Apple continues to innovate with iOS 18, adding customizable app icons and attracting more users to the Developer Beta, now free from the $99 fee. Stay tuned for further updates on Apple’s groundbreaking AI capabilities.
