In response to growing competition in the foldable smartphone market, Samsung is reportedly preparing to launch a rollable smartphone with a massive 12.4-inch display in 2025. This comes after the recent introduction of Huawei’s Mate XT, a “tri-fold” smartphone that has upped the stakes in the foldable space.
As foldable device sales, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, underperform, Samsung looks to rebound with this innovative rollable phone. The new device is expected to feature an under-display camera and cutting-edge design, offering a larger screen than competitors. If successful, Samsung will be the first major brand to bring a rollable smartphone to market.
